Find a Car Repair Shop: Official Locator Programs Compared
Need a mechanic and want a better starting point than a dozen open tabs? These official search tools help you find participating repair facilities. Each one represents a different program, so use the notes below to understand what its label does—and does not—tell you.

How to use this page: Choose a locator, enter your location on its site, then call the facility to confirm it works on your make and model, can handle the specific job, and has current availability. Car Brands does not rank, inspect, certify, or endorse the shops returned by these third-party tools.

These five entries are official outbound locator programs, not local businesses. Search by program or need. All entries remain visible in the page source and without JavaScript.

Search and filters need JavaScript. All five locator options are listed below.
AAA Approved Auto Repair
AAA’s locator searches its own Approved Auto Repair network by location and facility type. AAA says its facilities undergo inspections and its technicians are ASE-certified or factory-trained. The site also provides a repair-cost estimator and related car-care resources.
Scope note: AAA says a valid membership card must be presented at an Approved Auto Repair facility at service time. Check the current local terms and facility details before booking; AAA membership benefits and eligibility may vary.
ASE Blue Seal Recognized Businesses
ASE’s locator is specifically for Blue Seal Recognized Businesses. ASE describes the program as businesses where a large percentage of technicians are ASE-certified, and lets visitors distinguish public businesses from non-public ones that serve fleets or agencies.
Scope note: This is not a directory of every ASE-certified technician or every repair shop. A Blue Seal business listing is a program signal; ask which technicians and services apply to your repair.
Bosch Auto Service
Bosch Auto Service’s locator asks for a ZIP code to find local shops in its network. Use the result to start a conversation about the repair you need and the vehicle makes the shop currently services.
Scope note: The locator page explains how to search, but does not spell out shop-selection criteria. We describe it as a Bosch Auto Service locator, not as an independent certification or Car Brands endorsement.
NAPA AutoCare repair shops
NAPA’s Auto Repair Shops Near Me page directs visitors to nearby NAPA AutoCare centers and describes ASE-certified technicians. Use NAPA’s search to find a center, then check its listing and ask whether it handles your vehicle and repair.
Scope note: This is NAPA’s own program description; Car Brands has not verified the credentials of each center or technician. A NAPA AutoCare listing does not establish expertise for a specific make, model, or repair.
RepairPal Certified locations
RepairPal combines a repair-location search with vehicle repair estimates. RepairPal describes its Certified network as shops and dealerships evaluated under its own criteria, including technician training and experience, tools, parts, customer feedback, warranty, and pricing. Its certification information also says shop profiles highlight makes served and specialties, which can help you assess a candidate after you find it; that is not described as a locator filter.
Scope note: Those are RepairPal’s program criteria, not an inspection or rating by Car Brands. Review its certification process, enter your vehicle details, and confirm the shop’s current services and estimate directly.

A quick way to compare results
- Match the job. Ask whether the facility handles your vehicle’s make, model, year, engine, and the repair at hand. A locator result alone cannot confirm expertise for a particular job.
- Ask how the program applies. Check whether the listing is current, what the program covers, and whether membership, business type, location, or other terms matter.
- Get the estimate in writing. Request parts and labor details, the diagnostic reason for the repair, warranty terms, and whether the estimate can change with your approval.
- Compare the explanation as well as the total. A clear diagnosis and a direct answer to your questions are useful signals when you decide where to go.
Directory note: These links lead to third-party tools and their program descriptions. A listing is not a guarantee of outcome, availability, price, repair quality, or vehicle-specific expertise. Confirm details with the program and the shop before you authorize work.
